Three things to consider when renting a house in Bangkok
April 17, 2009
The capital of Thailand, Bangkok, is a vibrant city and on of the cheapest capitals to live in. Look at the wealth of shopping, restaurants, nightlife and culture and one will see that Bangkok is a great place to live with focus on life and fun For one person, shopping in Bangkok will be that sought after rare experience. Luxuriating in a fine Bangkok health spa will be the appeal for another jet setter. And while Bangkok offers all of the above, it is so much more.
Anyone who has visited the city can tell you that finding a condo for rent in Bangkok was a pretty easy task
Three things to consider for anyone looking for a Bangkok apartment rental are:
1. What is the rent? – Obviously, this has to be the primary consideration. The average price for rental of a 1 Room and a Kitchen condo is 27,000 Baht. That is quite a bit, even if you consider the dollar equivalent. The other problem is – Move uptown, and these prices cross all limits.
2. Commuting? One of Bangkoks negative sides is the traffic. Make sure you take into consideration the travel time required to get to work or school when looking for your home. A trip that takes 30 minutes in non-rush hour traffic can take several hours at peak traffic hours and it will be frustrating in the long run
3. Quiet or Crowded? – How do you like your neighbourhood to be? If you have a family and like the streets to be quiet you would probably opt for a less crowded area and compromise some on the closeness to the city. This could probably also be cheaper on your wallet or you could go for a larger apartment than originally thought as the rent will be considerable cheaper in the less crowded areas.
House for rent in Bangkok, can be a daunting but fun task.
Finding a home, which allows you to meet all these three considerations, can be one of the toughest tasks for anyone in Bangkok, however, most of the times people come out smiling after the deal!
