Ultimate Safari to fulfill childhood dream

November 30, 2008

An Ultimate Safari that was what I was after, you know the sort of thing, a taste of Tarzan, a flavour of Lara Croft and a massive sprinkling of King Kong. I knew exactly the adventure that I was after and needed to fashion my own tailor made holiday.

Once I had rung round several businesses I found one that was able to provide the scope that I required and started working out my adventure. I chose the East of Africa for its completely untamed magnificence but also due to the fact you could work in some fairly extreme sports while on the trip.

Choosing to start the journey with some climbing a little way up a range of mountains that were called “the mountains of the moon” by Ptolemy, but in Africa are named the Rwenzoris. These mountain range is stunning with Africa’s landscape layed out beneath you. I also had the urge to go white water rafting from the very start of the Nile, to experience the rush of such a fantastic stretch of water.  With the amazing jungles of Africa you I needed that sense of being amidst the African Wildlife so organised the tour guides to take us Mountain Gorilla Tracking to with any luck get some gorgeous camera shots.

I have to say that I believe that African safaris must be the best in the world for absolute natural bounty and variety. The ability to have a Tailor made Safari gave me an experience that I will always hold close to my heart, and allowed me to complete a boyhood dream.
