So why would anyone be involved in DIY shelf when they might simply take a ride to the local hardware shop and obtain something already made? Is constructing your own shelves truly the best way to go?

Practically everything I’ve built has been a special design in certain way. One of our girls required shelves over her bed which would fit her Barbie dolls in a specific way. The end result was in her exact choice of colors, the precise dimension she required, and with the exact combination of cubes and open shelves.
