A Look At Games Console Controllers

There can’t be many people who do not know the big three video games systems currently available in the stores. Everyone compares the PS3 with the Wii and with the Xbox 360 on the basis of quality of graphics but we should also think about the involvement you feel by using the controllers supplied.

You probably don’t think much about the importance of the controllers you use but the manufacturers spend a lot of time on design so we can take a look and see which we prefer. The Xbox first appeared back in 2001 but with it came a controller known as the duke controller.

Microsoft was quick to discover that people found the controller was too large to use comfortably and it hurt people’s hands. Realizing the problem they released a different design which was more acceptable to the public and is more like the one now used in the Xbox 360.

The controller they supply now is the most comfortable and most convenient to use. The controller for the Playstation 3 in use today is not as new as you might think.

It is not very different from the the PS2′s having had some changes internally. The original PS3 controller appeared very different but it’s changed control scheme was abandoned.

The talk is that it wasn’t as simple and easy to use as the time-tested PS2 one. There is little doubt they came right in the end but they need to be sure to get it just right preparing their next new games system whenever that is due.

The current controls are ok to use but a new system will mean people expect high standards from their games and their controllers in future. With the current financial climate it may be a while so we may have to be patient to get what we want.

The most game changing brand is currently the Nintendo Wii games console controllers which changed the market. The wii bundle comes with a wiimote and this is very different and hard to compare to older and more established console controllers.

The wiimote is more innovative that it has changed the type of people who like to play games thanks to the way of controlling games you are playing. The wiimote is a greater change than any other controller we have seen in the last two decades.

Technology sometimes puts cleverness over customer appreciation but here it is used for the enjoyment of the customer and it has the potential to take gaming to a whole new level. When the Wii bundles were first released hardened gamers dismissed the lack of powerful graphics computer chips but they ignored this game changing controller.

We are all waiting to see what the next generation of games systems and and if price is no problem these are the ones to get. It seems likely they will be not very different from the wiimote and they could be completely different to what we expect.
