San Jose Repertory Theatre

City Lights Theatre Company

Though the Town Lights Theater Company only performs 6 plays per season, each offering is deliberately selected to embody the Theater’s reputation as modern, inventive, radical and thought inciting. Each play runs for roughly a month, with the season running from January to Aug. Plays are performed in an intimate 100 seat location and are usually modern and edgy, even when interpreting classics like Hamlet and Chicago. The Tabard Theatre Company

With a goal of providing entertainment for all audiences with an interest in San Jose theaters, the Tabard Theatre Company also has a strong focus on community involvement. The theatre frequently donates a part of profits to charity, organizes food and clothing drives, and outreach programs targeted at making theatre affordable for people that may not usually experience theatre. The Tabard Theatre produces four to 6 main productions per season, in addition to offering workshops for children and adults. They’ve played in the past Antigone, The Small Prince, Neil Simon’s “Fools”, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and A Xmas Carol, amongst others. California Theatre

First open in 1927 as among the first concert halls in San Jose, the California Theatre was closed for decades before a $75 million renovation in 2004. The theatre is currently a modern facility seating 1100 guests,. Re-designed to capture its original 1920?s style. Located in San Jose’s South First Area District (Settee), the California Theatre is in the middle of San Jose’s arts and culture scene, adjacent to The Stage, Institute of Modern Art, countless diners, bars, jazz clubs, and smaller music locales.

Children’s Musical Theatre San Jose

The CMT was built in 1968 and is amongst the nations largest youth musical performance and training programmes.
