Looking For A True 5 Star Restaurant In Philadelphia?

Many french restaurants claim to be 5 stars. Personally, I barely agree with eatery ratings. However, one restaurant that I have experienced in being a consistent 5 stars is Le Bec Fin located in Philadelphia, PA. Other 5 star restaurants could learn a few things from this fine dining restaurant.

What I am expecting from a five star French restaurant is phenomenal cuisine and service. This is always the case at Le Bec Fin. The formal dcor in the main dining room is sublime. Often light music is playing in the background. On this particular January 9th 2012 evening, there was no music.

Tonite I started with the escargots cassolette in hazelnut and champagne garlic butter. I don't know of any other restaurant that makes this dish this outstanding. If you are hot for roasted garlic sauce, you will be in love with this dish. Depending on what menu you choose you have a variety of fish and protein dishes to choose between. Tonite I chose the truffle stuffed chicken breast with cardamom scented swiss chard, and blue foot mushrooms. This dish is always brilliant. My spouse selected the prime rib special. This is an abundant portion which can be simply shared. The prime rib was an evening specialty.

What truly sets this restaurant aside from other 5 star restaurants is the wide selection of delightful desserts. You always should leave room for dessert particularly if you're a chocolate fanatic as I am. My top 3 desserts are as follows:

Costa Rica -Praline Crunch, Bailey’s Crmeux, Coffee Mascarpone Mousse,

Gteau Le Bec Fin – Rum-Soaked Chocolate Gnoise, Chocolate Butter Cream

Wendy – Milk Chocolate Mousse, Vanilla-Bean Crme Brle, Vanilla- Soaked Chocolate Sponge

It is tough for me to choose whether the Costa Rica or the Gteau Le Bec Fin is my favourite dessert. If you are not into alcohol flavored desserts, then there are more selections besides these 2. The Wendy dessert is a mild chocolate sponge cake. Dependent on your own dessert preferences there's a dessert waiting for you on the dessert cart at Le Bec Fin. The dessert cart is available on most menus or can be added at an extra cost.
