The amplifier helps you hear better by increasing the level of sound around you. The speaker is the part that sends the amplified sound into the ear so that you can hear it.

Another basic part is the hearing aid battery. They will need to be replaced from time to time, even in a properly working device. These batteries are not very expensive. They cost anywhere from four to seven dollars in most cases, depending on the type that is needed.
