New Tampa: Great Place For Staying Active

Are you looking for a newer area with communities up to today’s standards? Then homes in New Tampa might be just right for you. Over 15 subdivisions are nestled away from the city noise in green acres next to the beautiful Flatwoods Wilderness Park. Flatwoods is an enormous park with miles of paved and unpaved trails that are great for biking, rollerblading, jogging or walking. It is a blessing to live so close to nature and be able to enjoy outdoors year round! Not willing to make the 10-minute drive to the park? All of the communities in New Tampa feature some combination of swimming pools, trails, fitness rooms, soccer and beach volleyball fields or tennis courts. There is no excuse to stay inside and not enjoy the beautiful Florida weather.
BEACHES IN TAMPA BAY
New Tampa is located within an hour drive to all local beaches. There are many choices of beaches, and all of them are within a similar distance from New Tampa. Some of the great choices for beaches are Clearwater Beach, Ana Maria Island in Bradenton and Siesta Key in Sarasota. All of these beaches have beautiful fine white sand and plenty of space and parking. The water is the brightest blue in Ana Maria Island.
NEW CONSTRUCTION IN TAMPA
You can find some great deals on new homes in Tampa. Builders are very motivated to unload their inventory of homes, and the prices have gone down substantially in the last couple of years. There are many builders that work in Tampa Bay area, and an experienced real estate agent will be able to guide you in the right direction. The advantages of buying a new home include getting to pick the finish out, colors, appliances and ability to customize the home to your taste. Some of the disadvantages of buying new construction include waiting months for the home to be built and higher prices compare to pre-owned homes. Most of the new construction in Tampa Bay is happening on the outskirts of Tampa, in areas such as New Tampa, Wesley Chapel and Riverview.
SHOPPING IN TAMPA
There are many choices for shopping malls in Tampa. International Plaza is the most upscale with Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom being some of its anchors. Shops at Wiregrass Mall is a new outdoor mall in Pasco County. It has a European feel with relaxed atmosphere, music, event, cafes and benches for people watching. Brandon Mall is a large mall with a multitude of stores, but the traffic to get in and out may get pretty bad. Citrus Park Mall is nice; it has a children’s carousel, a movie theater and many more additional stores and restaurants around the mall.
SPORTS IN TAMPA
Tampa Bay is big on sports. There are professional teams for American football (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), hockey (Tampa Bay Lightning), and baseball (Tampa Bay Rays). In fact, Tampa Bay Rays had the best season yet in 2008 and for the first time went to the World Series against the Philadelphia Phillies. Even though they lost, it was a great success nevertheless to go that far for the first time. It is also possible to watch another professional baseball team play as Yankees come down to Tampa for their spring training at the Legends Field in Tampa.
FASTEST-GROWING AREAS IN TAMPA BAY
The fastest-growing areas of Tampa real estate are located on the north Hillsborough County (New Tampa), Pasco County (Wesley Chapel, Land O Lakes) and south Hillsborough County (Riverview).Here you will find the most recently built communities and new construction. Advantages are lower prices, “newness” of roads, shops, restaurants, no power lines along the streets and fewer or no billboards. The disadvantages include remoteness from the city nucleus and the beaches and the similarity of the “cookie-cutter” communities.
