GPS Tracking Watches

GPS tracking watches are one of the latest and fastest growing developments in the compact GPS market. Miniaturized electronic circuitry has been combined with the wristwatch to form the ultimate GPS tracker for triathlon, hiking, orienteering, rogaining and geocaching participants.

The Suunto X10 includes an altimeter with logbook functions, barometer, digital compass, thermometer, and an extensive memory, as well as the usual 12/24 hour time/stopwatch functions, all combined into a sleek, sporty wrist-top computer with selectable metric/imperial units.

The Suunto X10 is compatible with several popular world-wide digital mapping services, including National Geographic TOPO!, Google Earth™ and Fugawi. The Suunto Track Exporter PC software that comes with the watch, makes route planning and waypoint programming fast, accurate and simple. You can plan your route on a digital map and download routes directly into the Suunto X10 or print out your own customized maps. The supplied Suunto Track Exporter PC software also allows you to export “tracks” from your GPS unit to Google Earth™, where you can view your adventures with real satellite imagery.

When you are travelling on a pre-planned route, the Suunto X10 shows the direction and remaining distance to the next waypoint and calculates the estimated time of arrival. When you are moving, the Suunto X10 shows the current speed and actual distance traveled using GPS functions. The ‘Find home’ setting guides you back to the start point or marked ‘Home’ position, while the ‘Track back’ function guides you back along any recorded route.
