the technology is slightly faster in ds lite, not by a noticable difference though. ds lite also has a back light and a lighter screen

The DS phat and the DS lite are both the same in what they will play, most GBA game and they will both play all DS games.

The DS phat is dimmer than the lite, but it fits in my hands better (I have large hands) It is also has slightly stronger hinges. It’s touch screen is a little more accurate in the earlier models, it isn’t that big of a difference in accuracy.

The Lite’s dimmest setting is still brighter than the Phat, it is much thinner and over all more sleek and nice looking. Now the DS lite has poor hinges, but Nintendo has a repair program.

Overall I like the Lite better, but I would buy a DS Phat if they redesigned it to be brighter.

Well the regular ds not the lite is a little to heavy and sometimes hard to handle and the ds lite is lite and it will last you a lot longer my cousins had two regular ds and they both broke already and I have had my ds lite for years and it is in perfect condition. I hope I helped=)
