Silk Plant

I enjoy using a silk plant to lighten up up the home. Many folks find they are the answer to lending an outdoor atmosphere to their household with a minimal amount of effort.

Silk plant arrangements are always bright and full and stay the same size, so there is no need to wait for your plant to grow to its desirable size or shape. It’s all there right from the start. No snipping is required and they never look untidy or shabby.

A premium quality silk plant, silk flower or silk tree gives a sense of realism and natural presence, helping any living or meeting space look better and more inviting . When used creatively, they can be a real asset to decorator makeovers and home decor projects.

Most silk plant suppliers provide a range of large species which are suitable for commercial and public spaces or where there is a sizeable portion of open space. Many furniture shops, churches and office buildings use silk palms, silk ficus trees and artificial bushes to render a needed ambience. Silk plants do give you that “nature” feeling all year round and there are no watering, wilting or bug troubles.

A silk plant is ideal for use in sites where real plants cannot flourish or survive.
Silk plants are now a pleasure to have in your home or office as they have come a long way from the waxy and evidently fake plants that graced your Grandmother’s home. You no longer need a green thumb to enjoy the beauty of a lush green plant or tree.

Making Clean A Silk Plant

There are special cleaning formulae specifically designed for cleaning silk plants and repelling dust. Still, the main concern is to thoroughly dust your silk plants and containers to maintain them like new.

The ‘salt bag technique’ is also an easy way to clean silk plants . You place your silk plant into a plastic bag with about a cupful of table salt and simply shake until clean.
Of course this is easier with small flowers and plants, and not suited for a silk tree or silk shrub.

My favorite technique to clean my silk plant is it to place them in the shower bath a few times a year. It’s quick and easy and calls for no special cleaning products. I just allow them to dry and they’re as colorful as new.

Synthetic and silk plants can be used in ‘difficult’ situations that may need a little dressing up. They are particularly good for hard to reach places where it is impossible to reach and water a normal living plant.

The key to success with silk plants and silk trees is to buy good premium items. You don’t want your fake trees to look artificial do you? Good quality silk plant products can hold their own beside the sofa, on a shelf or on the fireplace mantle and can make a world of difference to your home.
