Texas Car Shipping: Is Auto Transport the perfect way to conserve during your relocation?

January 27, 2009

Relocating can be a very expensive journey when you take into account all the little details involved. One of the bigger of the little details would be how to get your teenager’s vehicle from point A to point B most efficiently and cost effectively. Is it possible to have the teenager drive the vehicle himself? Is he trustworthy enough for such an adventure? How many expenses would he incur making such a long drive? Is it more expensive to relocate the vehicle using an auto transport company than the vehicle is actually worth? Should you pay, say, a Texas car shipping company to be in charge of the whole transport operation or should you research the more local Florida auto transport Company? The larger and sometimes more difficult consideration would be should you just sell the vehicle and risk your teenagers heartache at having to sell his first vehicle and buy another when you arrive at your new house?

All options should be carefully researched. If your teenager is heartbroken over selling the first vehicle that he has spent some of his hard-earned cash into to make it “sweet”, maybe the best option would be to have your teenager pay a portion of the transport costs. Maybe a better lesson would be to have the teenager prepare and list the vehicle for sale in your current home town and then have him go through the process of selling the vehicle. It could be really exciting then to have him look for and locate a proper affordable replacement online near your new place and go through the process of purchasing the new vehicle on his own with your guidance.

In the end, you may say that it would be cheaper and less complicated in the long run to just hire and pay the transport company to take care of the relocation of the vehicle. Your teenager would most likely be happier keeping the original vehicle. Having the vehicle relocated by the shipping company, you won’t have the worries of your teenager driving such a long distance on his own. He would feel that he is a contributing member of the family assisting in paying for the transport himself. It would also be a nice daily reminder of his former house having his first vehicle travel with him to the new home and would help him to build new memories with his new friends and environment.
